Student Clubs

Student Clubs at a college are attuned to help students get most out of their experience while they are enrolled at the college for their academic pursuits. These student clubs offer limitless opportunities for student leadership and participation beyond classroom setup and academic programme. They provide a great platform to usher-in the distinctive perspectives and life experiences that all students bring to the college. They indeed help in students’ transformation and holistic development in a big way. So it is that these clubs are especially aimed at helping students to get involved and find their own niche on their college campus.

Commerce Club

The Commerce Club is dedicated to cultivating students’ knowledge in the field of commerce through a range of activities that provide exposure to the subject.
The club organizes application-based events such as product launch, business quiz, statistics lecture contest, and economics lecture contest etc. fostering a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

Each academic year, an industrial visit is arranged for commerce students, offering them insights into various firms and their operations.

Eminent speakers deliver guest lectures on curriculum-based subjects, acquainting students with diverse topics and their practical applications in different industries.

Participation in intercollegiate fests related to commerce prepares students for the competitive world. Furthermore, individual subject teachers offer career counseling and guidance, assisting students in choosing their areas of interest for future endeavors.

Cultural Club

The cultural club orchestrate concealed talents of students, turning them into a captivating performance of self-discovery. The college pulses with a spectrum of activities throughout the year.

We unleash the years cultural events with an Orientation Programme for first PUC students and felicitation of the toppers of second PUC. This is followed by the inauguration of co- curricular activities, Talents day, Guru Purnima, Cultural day, Ethnic day, Ganesha festival, Koti Kanta Gayana, Kannada Rajyotsava celebration.
We conduct ‘MES Kalavedi’ an intercollegiate MES youth festival in the month of November. A personality contest is organised every year to select the all-rounders in both male and female category and is given the title of Mr. and Miss. KK.

The cultural events culminate with the annual day celebrations in the month of December.

Eco Club

Man is an integral part of an ecosystem. The insatiable greed in man coupled with environmental exploitation has led to the degradation of various ecological resources and an imbalance in the ecosystem. This disrespect towards the environment can endanger many species including man.

The eco club aims to create an awareness among the students and foster in them ,the need to respect and protect the environment The eco club believes in sensitizing the students towards the environmental issues through various events and activities. The secretaries of the club will involve the students, the eco warriors from science and commerce classes to organize, conduct and participate in various events, and competitions at the college and intercollegiate level. The current topics of ecological interest are considered for the various competitive events

iii) Debate
iv) Painting
v) Collage making

Eminent personalities in the field of environmental and ecological sciences are identified as Guest speakers to address our students to create awareness and promote a sense of environmental protection along with sustainable living.

‘The greatest threat to our planet is that someone else will save it’ – such unmindful thoughts need to be replaced with individual and social responsibilities to safeguard our only home –‘earth’. The screening of acclaimed short documentaries and films enable to generate an awareness among our students, so as to realize and adopt the words of Dalai lama,

‘It is our collective and individual responsibly to preserve and tend to the world in which we live’.

Interact club

Interact club is a part of Rotary club which brings together young people in the age group 12-18 to inculcate leadership qualities while discovering the power of service above self.
Interact club was started in MES Kishora Kendra PU College in the year 2015.

Activities of Interact club helps in recognition and developing constructive leadership skills and personal integrity. It also provides opportunity for young people to work together and participate in fun yet meaningful service projects.

Interactors in our college has organised and executed several projects which has benefited them personally and to the needy section of the society.

Interactors enjoy and learn while participating in various projects like fund raising, service to the community etc.

Literary Club

The aim of literary club is to inculcate among students a flair for language, enhance their literary skill, induce reading habit and encourage them to become orators.

This is a very versatile group which arranges a diverse array of literary activities. The grand opening ceremony of all the club activities is marked by the inauguration of ‘Srjana’ -the wall magazine.

The literary club hosts events like spell bee competition, essay competition, debate, creative writing, poetry writing, Just a minute(JAM), Pick and speak, Recitation, Tongue twisters in English, Hindi as well as Kannada.

Department of Sanskrit celebrates ‘Sanskrit Saptaha’ by conducting various competitions like: Pada- Anthyakshari, Padha Bandha, Chithra Katha, Geetha Gayana, Veda pathana, Uttankana spardha, Ashu katha etc

NCC

National Cadet Corps is a National Youth Organization, combined with the Army, Navy and Airforce wing, engaged in grooming youth The Leaders of Tomorrow– into disciplined and patriotic citizens.

MES Kishora Kendra NCC tagged with MES ACS College (Army unit) provides an opportunity to develop qualities of character like Courage, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and sportsmanship among the student cadets. It develops the idea of selfless service among the youth to mould them into better citizens & enable the cadets to appear for B certificate exams, for which annual camp attendance is compulsory.

To encourage students to enrol in NCC, credits are awarded.

  • NCC is actively involved in outreach and community development programs, Annual blood donation camps, etc…
  • NCC cadets enrol as civil defence volunteers in Karnataka Civil Defense Society.
  • NCC cadets take up social awareness programs as a part of their training every year.
  • NCC cadets raise resources for National Association for the Blind.
  • They participate as volunteers to maintain discipline of civil society.

Rangers & Rovers

Rover (Boys)/Rangers (Girls) are of age group 15-25 years with motto  ‘Service’

Introduction:

The Bharat Scouts & Guide is a voluntary, non-political, educational movement for young people, open to all without distinction of origin, race or creed, in accordance with the purpose, principles and methods conceived by the founder Lord Baden Powell in 1907.

Objectives:

The purpose of the movement is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of the local, national and international communities.

In our college, Rovers & Rangers club is very active and they rendered their services on various community development camps.
We rendered the services at Iskcon temple, Malleswaram local association, during election and also our rovers have taken part in ‘rovers nadige halli kadege’ in Karkala. They have participated in international cultural jamboree at Alva’s college, Moodabidri, and many more.

Red Cross

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is the largest humanitarian network in the world. Its mission is to alleviate human suffering, protect life and health, and uphold human dignity especially during armed conflicts and other emergencies. It is present in every country and supported by millions of volunteers.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is dedicated to preventing and alleviating human suffering in warfare and in emergencies such as epidemics, floods and earthquakes.

Indian Red Cross Society is a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Relations between the IRCS and the India Delegation of the Federation are strong.

The Indian Red Cross Society Karnataka State, District and Taluk branches together with Government of Karnataka have committed to:

  • Creating awareness on climate change.
  • Providing humanitarian services.
  • Improving capacities to respond.
  • Reducing vulnerability of communities most strongly affected.
  • Turning youth Red Cross junior Red Cross volunteers as change agents in their local communities.
  • Mobilizing human and financial resources to empower societies to be resilient

Science Club

Science club is an exciting way for students and enthusiasts to explore and engage with the world of science. We started club activities with essay writing competition followed by valuable talk on the “Contributions of sir C V RAMAN”. Debate competition was conducted followed by science quiz which ensured presence of scientific knowledge.

We also conducted two unique events “FUN WITH PHYSICS” and “FUN WITH CHEMISTRY”. Our students also participated in various inter college competitions and have won prizes, from essays to quizzes, from science Olympiads to science talks and from science marathons to exhibitions. They also participated and won prize in regional competitions on essay writing and experimental physics at national level. Many students took part and completed the course of self-study e-learning contest organized by “TARAMANDALA”. To conclude, these events are conducted to instil scientific knowledge and values among the younger generation.

Department of Physical Education & Sports

Provides adequate infrastructure facilities for sports and games so that students choose and participate in the events for which they have flair.
Also to spot and groom the sports talent, to foster, to improve human relations through sports and games. To imbibe  discipline, leadership qualities, courage and the sense of belonging through sports activities in the students. To train the students to receive success and defeat equanimous.

Students have actively participated at the International, National, and State levels in various categories of sports like Volleyball, Cricket, Football, Table Tennis, Badminton, Basket Ball, Athletics, Netball, Tennis, Handball, Karate, Taekwondo, Swimming, Chess, Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Yoga and Throwball etc.

MES KK PU College has also excelled at intercollegiate front as well with accolades in various tournaments and MES KK PU College is currently among the top Colleges for its innovative and most modern indoor sports arena facility.
